Developed bus service is present only in Nairobi and Mombasa. To travel on a city bus, a tourist must buy a ticket from the driver. This is done at the entrance.
One ticket is provided for one trip, that is, to transfer to another bus, you need to pay again.
Some buses have conductors. In such transport, there is no need to approach the driver at the entrance to pay for the trip. The conductor himself will approach the person who has entered the cabin.
A significant disadvantage of bus transport in Kenya is their operating hours. They do not run often, so if a person urgently needs to get to a certain destination, he should use a taxi or a minibus.
Minibus
The minibus runs here all day, starting at 6 am and ending at 12 pm. A foreigner coming here for the first time may be surprised by the number of people traveling on Kenyan highways. One bus can accommodate more than 50 people. This is not due to the popularity of bus transport, but to the large number of people living in the country. For this reason, a foreigner traveling on local transport should be careful.
Trains
Many tourists refuse to travel around Kenya by train, as they are afraid of the lack of the desired comfort. In fact, modern Kenyan trains are quite comfortable. The carriages are comfortable and clean.
